you’ve been chosen to circle us in love on our wedding day
Paul and Jace Lacerte
06. 20. 25
Our Day
-
Carey Newman and Cheryl Parsons will offer an optional smudge to all guests as they enter the Gorge Pavilion, inviting each person to arrive in clarity and good intention.
-
Paul and Jace have chosen Marianne Lacerte to marry them in ceremony. Marianne’s deep understanding of how we enter this world and how we leave it offers the wisdom we need to make every precious moment in between truly count.
-
Jace, Paul, and their wedding parties will be led into the venue by their dear friend Swil Kanim, an internationally renowned violinist whose music carries the power of heart and spirit. From the very first moment Jace met Swil, he told her, ‘I’m going to play you down the aisle.’ And now, with joy and destiny intertwined, that promise comes true.
-
As they once guided Jace and Paul toward marriage by gifting Paul a wedding ring, Charlie will now walk ahead of Jace, scattering petals along the path that leads her to their union.
-
Cedar Sus and Kilo Poirier, two little bears, will carry Paul and Jace’s wedding rings to the ceremony, bringing their playful spirit and love to this sacred moment.
-
Paul had Jace’s ring crafted by Carey Newman, who carved two hummingbirds into the band to symbolize the joy and love Jace and Paul bring into the world. The hummingbirds surround a Blue Sapphire promising loyalty and spiritual growth.
Jace had Paul’s ring made from 400-million-year-old moon rock and 40,000-year-old woolly mammoth bone — representing one hand in the stars and one hand in the soil, reflecting the two dimensions both Paul and Jace naturally inhabit and have finally found in each other.
-
Jace will be surrounded by her sisters — Cheryl Parsons, Kathryn Lacerte, Shantel Farrell, Libby Hendren, and Laura Collins — who stand beside her as a circle of encouragement, each holding a piece of the dreams and intentions she carries into her future with Paul.
-
Paul will be joined by his daughter Raven and Da Boyz — Ron Rice, Carey Newman, Dave Stevenson, Adrian Barwin, and Ray Lazanik — who will stand beside him, each offering their love and support as he marries the love of his life.
-
Nuu-chah-nulth Chef Jessica Sault — or Auntie Jess, as Jace and Paul lovingly call her — will prepare a traditional (gluten-free) feast.
This gathering will feature succulent sockeye salmon from the Somass River, prawns from Barkley Sound, traditionally harvested herring eggs from Bella Bella, oysters, wild rice, fresh salads, and Paul’s moose stew recipe made with moose hunted in Carrier Territory by Dom, Raven, Cedar, and Chas.
For dessert, guests will share in huckleberries lovingly picked by Jace and Paul for this special occasion.
The feast will be a blessing of many hands, and supper will be served family style — reminding us that the heart of this celebration is the kinship and future we continue to nourish together as one community.
-
Downtown Mischief will light up the night with two live sets, inviting everyone to get their funk on and fill the evening with joyful movement. As the final note of the celebration, Ray Lazanik will close the night on the banjo — sending us all home with hearts full and feet still tapping. Bring your best moves!
-
The After Party will unfold at Hecklers Bar at the Vic Hotel — the nearest pub to the wedding venue and the closest hotel for our out-of-town guests — offering a final gathering place to keep the celebration going into the night.
All 19+ are welcome — come raise a glass, share a laugh, and help us dance this love all the way into tomorrow!
The young ones can enjoy the Vic Hotel’s Optimism Lounge. Featuring a panel of 75” TVs, Ping Pong table, Foosball table, and board games for the whole family. -
Please let us know in your RSVP if you’d like to witness us make her-story as we legally marry in the very place where Paul proposed — our living room at 940 Arundel Drive.
